The missions of an interim legal director

The legal director's mission is to define the strategy for defending the company's interests in all legal and tax matters. He/she advises the management and operational departments on legal matters, both on projects and on litigation.

Assignments include various responsibilities:

  • Provide management and legal advice to the general management: preparation of boards of directors, ordinary and extraordinary general meetings, supervisory boards, mandatory reports, minutes... in compliance with the regulations in force

  • Managing and investigating cases: implementing formal notice procedures, summonses to court, etc. advising, if necessary, on the nature of the legal action to be taken (criminal, civil, commercial)
  • Manage specific legal issues related to intellectual property (patents, trademarks, domain names, copyrights, trademark registration, etc.)
  • Select and manage the relationship with external legal firms
